11F- Outreach for equality

On February 11th, the Sound of Ice project team organized a series of special activities to commemorate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The celebration included outreach workshops designed to inspire and motivate future generations in the field of science.

These activities took place at two secondary schools and one primary school, where a total of 350 children from Early Childhood Education, Primary, Secondary Education, and Baccalaureate actively participated in the sessions. During the workshops, students had the opportunity to learn about the team’s work on the project, as well as the importance of gender equality in science.

The main goal was to bring science closer to young people, fostering their curiosity and encouraging them to explore scientific careers in the future. The workshops included hands-on activities, simple experiments, and motivational talks, where the team’s female scientists shared their experiences and highlighted the vital role of women in research.

The initiative was very well received by the schools and students, who showed enthusiasm and interest in learning more about science and the opportunities it offers. Undoubtedly, these activities contributed to promoting gender equality in the scientific field and inspired the next generation to pursue their dreams in this area.

The Sound of Ice team expressed great satisfaction with the reception and hopes to continue organizing similar actions in the future to further promote science among young people.
