Long Night of Science

Sound of Ice project was introduced in the long night of science in IFW-Dresden on July 8th 2022. On the Long Night of Science, the local scientific institutions open their doors to the public in order to present themselves with insights into their research topics. Visitors can experience science, technology, research and innovation in a variety of lectures, experiments, and exhibitions. In this event, IFW Dresden members of SOI, held public lectures to introduce themselves and provide an overview of this project.

Little scientists, big experiments

Nano on Surf team gave a workshop on scientific experiments to preschool and primary school students from Las Salesianas School (Seville). They became explorers and scientists for a day and learned about science through food and other objects that we usually have at home.

Plasmania

The researcher of the Sound Of Ice project, Carmen Lopez Santos, gave various conferences in different institutes of Andalusia on the importance of working to make women in science visible and encourage #STEM among young women.

Outreach at Pablo Picasso school

The members of #NanoOnSurf were at CEIP Pablo Ruiz Picasso in Seville teaching future researchers what we do at the Institute of Materials Science in Seville (ICMS), particularly the challenges we are working on with the Sound of Ice project. Thanks to the school and teachers for this successful day.

Science in the villages

Nano On Surf team traveled to a small town in Seville called Constantina to take science to children and young people. With this objective, the researchers gave several workshops and conferences where they could present the importance and objectives of the Sound of Ice project.
